Our Doctor is the Westporter of the Week by Timothy
One edition of The Patch’s section named “Westporter of the Week” featured Dr. Timothy Ehrlich, talking about his personal and professional life for an online publication which targets local communities and people. This is a very professional publication which wants to cover events and persons in the cities and towns nearby and has its headquarters in New York City. It is run by professional editors, writers, photographers and so on.
Firstly, Dr. Ehrlich talked about his personal life, how he moved from New Orleans 8 years ago with his wife and two daughters, Zoe and Lola, and now he has a son too, his name is Nate. The doctor’s favorite reading is anything written by Frederick Reiken, who is an old friend from New Jersey and wrote the Odd Sea, the Lost Legends of New Jersey and Day for Night, which is the most recent. His daughters love reading everything on Harry Potter and they do it at Burying Hill in Westport.
Dr. Timothy Ehrlich has performed over 1,800 surgeries, more than any weight loss surgeon in the state of Connecticut. This has made him a leader who is now building the most comprehensive bariatric surgery program in his opinion. This will be done in collaboration with Griffin Hospital in Derby, a hospital known for its excellence and great results on patients, thanks to the army of physiologists, trainers, counselors, nutritionists.
This doctor has been recently involved in a study which tried to see if lap band surgery could be performed on low bmi patients. Lap band surgery was allowed only to patients with a BMI higher than 40 and health conditions associated with obesity but low bmi lap band surgery turned out to be safe too, with positive results when the strict rules were followed.
He had a chance to give lectures nationally and recently helped the Library in Westport by offering them the Westport Reads 2011 selection.
