Library In Las Vegas

Fear and loathing in las vegas??!!!?
I really want to read this book, it’s by Hunter S. Thompson, but i can’t find it at any Libraries and i have no money. Is there a way to read it online for free?? Helpful answers deeply apreciated.
No. The book is still under copyright, so you’re not going to be able to find a copy online. I’m surprised it wasn’t available at your Library. You might ask a librarian if it’s possible to do an inter-library loan (where they get the book for you from another library).

Death in Texas (St. Martin’s True Crime Library Series) $6.99 Was he his brother’s keeper?Robert and Doris Angleton seemed to have the perfect life. Until she was coldly murdered in her own home, shot thirteen times in the head, chest, and abdomen…Suddenly the ideal husband seemed anything but perfect: he was jailed, accused of hiring his older brother, Roger, to kill his wife for money– possibly as much as $2 million. However, without the crucial eyewitness testimony of Roger– who soon committed suicide in a Houston jail cell– the case against Robert rested entirely on circumstantial evidence. But the facts raise more questions than answers…* Doris Angleton– deeply involved in a secret love affair– had asked her husband for a divorce, which might have exposed him as a tax-skipping millionaire bookie and favored police informant…* Extensive handwritten and typewritten notes, coupled with a secretly taped conversation between Roger and another man outlining the murder, were found in a briefcase Roger Angleton was carrying when he was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, it was later concluded that the second voice on the tape was not Robert’s…* Also in Roger’s briefcase: $64,000 in cash, along with a money wrapper with Robert’s fingerprint on it…* Ultimately Roger confessed to the murder in his suicide note, exonerating his brother of any guilt…A Texas jury came to one conclusion. Read this fascinating true-crime account of greed, deception, and cold-blooded murder– and decide for yourself. With eight pages of shocking photos! |

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Other American Stories, Tie-In Edition $21 First published in Rolling Stone magazine in 1971, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is Hunter S. Thompson’s savagely comic account of what happened to this country in the 1960s. It is told through the writer’s account of an assignment he undertook with his attorney to visit Las Vegas and check it out. The book stands as the final word on the highs and lows of that decade, one of the defining works of our time, and a stylistic and journalistic tour de force. As Christopher Lehmann-Haupt wrote in The New York Times, it has a kind of mad, corrosive prose poetry that picks up where Norman Mailer’s An American Dream left off and explores what Tom Wolfe left out. This Modern Library edition features Ralph Steadman’s original drawings and three companion pieces selected by Dr. Thompson: Jacket Copy for Fear and Loath-ing in Las Vegas, Strange Rumblings in Aztlan, and The Kentucky Derby Is Deca-dent and Depraved. |
